KHIM PROJECT MANAGER

Summary

KHI Medical is a growing medical construction company, specializing in the renovation of operating rooms and installation of surgical lights and booms throughout the country. Our team is built on the principles of integrity, transparency, and hard work in order to achieve superior customer satisfaction. Currently, we are looking for project managers who are willing and able to manage, while working side-by-side, small renovation teams with a strong attention to detail, dedication to efficiency, and loyalty toward the crewmembers. Candidates are expected to have a construction background and familiarity with electrical work, structural steelwork, and installation of technical equipment.

Job Purpose

The KHI Project Manager works with and leads a small team of professionals to safely achieve client goals in an efficient manner. In order to achieve this, KHIM PMs need to be able to effectively plan, communicate, execute, and learn from short-term projects. As the face of KHIM, the PM position must also be comfortable in front of the client and able to accomplish administrative requirements and communications, facilitating repeat business from our clients.

Key Attributes of a KHI Project Manager

KHI project managers must be able to understand their role in facilitating success from their workers, establish a high standard of quality, and hold his/her workers accountable to live up to those expectations while cultivating a sense of teamwork and accomplishment. Specifically, this includes:

  • Preparation and planning prior to an event to facilitate efficiency while on the clients site.
  • Communicating the plan of action with team members and client prior to work
  • Manage the work to crew to be aligned with plan of action and predictable
  • Manage change in accordance with KHI priorities (client, efficiency, and safety)
  • Provide client with consistent updates in person, via email, and online
  • Debrief with the crew, management, and client to continuously find ways to get better

Overall: Managers are expected to safely organize and work alongside employees to com- plete projects under cost and on or ahead of a specified timeline. PM’s can be trusted to run the project in accordance with Client and KHI goals in mind. The successful Project Manager performs a wide range of duties including some or all of the following:

Qualifications

Education

  • High School diploma, College degree preferred

Knowledge, skills and abilities

  • 3 years in a project management role desired
  • Ability to travel overnight 80% or more of the time
  • Ability to work alongside the team installing equipment
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools
  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical and low voltage systems
  • Installation of low voltage, mechanical including physical placement of equipment
  • Ability to read plans, decipher instructions and follow the scope of work
  • Ability to assess changes in the scope of a job and appropriately request a change order
  • Project Managers work a standard work week but may be required to work evenings and weekends to meet project milestones(Nationwide)
  • Ability to work in a crouched or kneeling position and in confined spaces
  • Ability to lift 70+ pounds

Installation Technician

Job Purpose

The Installation Technician is responsible for the successful installation of equipment in a efficient and consistent manner, while working with a team to achieve a common goal of timely project completion.

KHI is dedicated to satisfying the objectives of the client and KHI together. All efforts are made to keep the focus on accomplishing tasks while developing personal friendly and polite relationships with clients.

Client goal:  Complete the job on time, with quality work, and under budget
KHI goals:   Complete the job in a safe manner
Complete the job with no / minimal re-work

Technical Expertise

  • Install operating room lights, equipment booms, cabinetry, among other structures.
  • Pull, install, cable (CAT 5/6), medical gas lines, and other cabling
  • Provide reports for clients, validating test results and work performed
  • Learn client specific systems, enabling client growth and full integration
  • Install and mount video monitors.
  • Proficient in cable management.
  • Basic general contracting skills.

Knowledge, and abilities

  • Ability to travel overnight 80% or more of the time.
  • Knowledge of, electrical, and low voltage systems.
  • Ability to read plans and follow the scope of work, installing all equipment to specifications.
  • Ability to assess changes in the scope of work and appropriately request a change order.
  • Need to be able to use a level, wrench, reciprocating saw, portable hand saw, or hammer drill to install equipment.
  • Installation Technicians work a standard work week but may be required to work evenings and weekends to meet project milestones. (Nationwide)
  • Ability to work in a crouched or kneeling position and in confined spaces.
  • Preferred certifications, such as OSHA 10.
  • Ability to lift 70+ pounds.

Compensation

  • Hourly wage of $18 – $27 per hour based on experience.
