Overview
KHI Medical is actively seeking construction superintendents who possess the capacity to lead while collaborating with work crews and renovation teams. The ideal candidate will have a construction background coupled with familiarity in electrical work, structural steelwork, and reading blueprints.
Role Objective
Superintendents represent KHI Medical by orchestrating installers, subcontractors, material deliveries, and on-site activities, ensuring adherence to specific job schedules. They play a pivotal role in guiding their team through surgical equipment installation (surgical booms, lighting, computers) to complete OR demo/renovation. Superintendents must effectively plan, communicate, execute, and debrief on all projects, including customer communication. These qualities cultivate client trust and facilitate repeat business.
Key Attributes
Superintendents must have the expertise to lead a team of medical equipment technicians, network specialists, and subcontractors, while fostering team accomplishments, quality standards, accountability, as well as online administrative reporting. Specifically, this includes:
- Experience in and knowledge of the construction industry
- Blueprint comprehension and interpretation
- Understanding of fundamental building codes, encompassing electrical, fire suppression, and medical gas systems
- Strategic action planning, preparedness, and communication to team members and clients prior to project commencement
- Change management skills aligned with KHI’s priorities (client satisfaction, efficiency, and safety)
- Consistent client updates in person and via email
- Comprehensive debriefs with crews, management, and clients to drive continuous growth
Qualifications
Education:
- High School diploma, College degree preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 3 years in a leadership role preferred
- Willingness to travel extensively, often exceeding 80% of working time with the flexibility to accommodate evening and weekend shifts, ensuring project milestones (nationwide)
- Proficiency in hands-on equipment installation alongside a team
- Confidence using hand and power tools
- Familiarity with OSHPD regulations
- Experience across plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and low-voltage systems
- Proficiency in blueprint comprehension, instruction decoding, and scope-of-work adherence
- Capacity to assess and address job scope changes and change order requests
- Physical dexterity to work in confined spaces, kneeling, and lifting objects exceeding 70 pounds
- Preferred certifications, such as ICRA and OSHA 30
